Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH)
Build a Strong Foundation in OSHA and Workplace Safety
The Specialist in Safety & Health (SSH) Certificate is a nationally recognized OSHA certificate program that helps safety professionals build a strong understanding of workplace hazards, OSHA standards, and safety and health management.
Developed by the Great Plains OSHA Education Center, the SSH Certificate is delivered by the National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter (NSCN), the only authorized host site in Nebraska. Whether you’re new to workplace safety or looking to expand your knowledge, this program provides practical OSHA training you can apply immediately in your organization.
Choose a General Industry or Construction track based on your role and career goals. Many SSH courses also count toward the Certified Safety & Health Official (CSHO) Certificate, making the SSH a great first step if you plan to continue your professional development.
The Great Plains OSHA Education Center will accept one Certificate of Completion from another OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) outside of Region VII toward the SSH Certificate requirements.
